Heated public comment in Traverse City tonight as the debate about merging two Grand Traverse County fire departments continues.
At tonight's Traverse City Commission meeting the debate raged on over possible changes to fire personal.
A proposal at an earlier meeting this year mentioned consolidating services with Grand Traverse County's Metro Fire Department.
Some residents accused the commission of a personal agenda, while commissioners responded saying the city simply cannot afford to operate the Traverse City Fire Department the way it's run now, and change needs to happen.
A committee formed tonight will look into all the options before any decision is made.
