Emergency Landing of Small Plane Near Bay City

Posted: Updated:

An empty gas tank could be to blame for an emergency landing of a small plane flying from Gaylord to Pontiac.

The 77-year-old pilot landed in a bean field in Bay County's Frankenlust Township, near Bay City.

It appears she wasn't able to switch to the plane's second tank in time and was forced to land.

Police say she has 17 years of flying experience and was not hurt.
