Last night on 9&10 News at 5:00, we told you about new bills approved in Lansing that could give biological fathers some right to their children, even if the mothers were married to another man at the time of their baby's birth.
Right now, Michigan law presumes a woman's husband is the father of her children.
That makes him responsible for their support and denies parental rights to the biological father.
Last week, lawmakers passed measures to extend rights to biological fathers.
The proposal now goes to Governor Snyder for a signature.
