Little Traverse Conservancy Acquires New Nature Preserve In Pellston

Posted: Updated:

Little Traverse Conservancy continues to protect land in northern Michigan.

There is a new nature preserve just west of downtown Pellston, near Pioneer Park.

The Philip J. Braun Nature Preserve is 125 acres, and includes 4,500 feet of Maple River frontage.

It's the first piece of land the conservancy has had with frontage on the Maple River, something they consider very significant.

The preserve is still a work in progress.

Crews have trail maintenance to do, but it is open for the public to enjoy.
