East Jordan Municipal Harbor 100-Percent Open After Dredging Project

Posted: Updated:

After three dredging projects since 2008, East Jordan has a plan in place to cut down on sediment build-up all together.

Crews just finished dredging the East Jordan Municipal Harbor last month, meaning it's 100-percent open again.

That's an improvement from last year when many of the slips were closed because of sediment.

It's been a steady struggle to keep sand build-up from the Jordan River out of there.

The city says they have tentative approval from the DNR to help fund a sand diversion wall.

They plan to get started on the project later this year.
