TRAVERSE CITY - The Traverse City Beach Bums used a 6-run sixth inning to break things open en route to a 12-2 victory over the Rockford Riverhawks at Wuerfel Park.  Chase Burch paced the Traverse City offense, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.  Burch became just the fourth Beach Bum in team history to record 200 career hits.  Jose Vargas added a solo home run in the second inning, his fifth of the season.

On the mound, Bennett Whitmore pitched a superb game to earn his first win of the year, going 8-1/3 innings, giving up just two runs, while striking out five.

The Beach Bums will try for the series sweep on Thursday at Wuerfel Park.  First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.  Jacob Clem will get the start for Traverse City, opposing Cody Hallahan.
