TC Mini-Train Sold To Buckley Old Engine Show Group

A decision was made tonight on Traverse City's miniature steam engine; it will still be chugging in Northern Michigan, but not in Traverse City.

Tonight the city commission voted to sell it to the Buckley Old Engine Show for $20.

The city decided to get rid of the Clinch Park mini-train to make room for a new bayfront park.

They've been collecting bids, including from a local group who wanted to relocate it to the Grand Traverse Commons.

But the city decided the engine show is the best place for the old train.

The commission says the train needs a lot of maintenance and up-keep.

The group will remove the tracks as soon as possible and put it on display at this year's show.
