Michigan Senate passed the final step of the state budget and sent the information to Governor Snyder for his signature.

On Tuesday, the Senate approved a budget deal for state universities, community colleges and public schools.

The deal states, universities would see an overall 3% increase.

For universities to receive the 3% increase, they must hold tuition increases to no more than 4% and meet other requirements.

Lawmakers wanted to send the entire budget to Governor Snyder by June 1st but differences delayed the completion.
