Traverse City is known worldwide for things like cherries and beaches.
But did you know it's also famous for its plastics?
Plascon, a local business, produces specialty plastic packaging for hundreds of companies, to be used for anything from trash bags in hospitals to big bulk liners for food.
The Traverse City Chamber of Commerce just named the plastics plant the 2012 Small Business of the Year.
