Arkansas Man Accused of Selling Illegal Carp in Michigan

Posted: Updated:

An Arkansas man is charged with 12 counts of selling live Asian carp in Michigan.

David Costner violated a state law prohibiting the spread of invasive species.

He sold 2 grass carp to undercover investigators last month in Midland.

Officials say Costner carried the illegal carp and other illegal fish around Michigan in a semi-truck and sold them in store parking lots.

The 2 most popular invasive species to invade the Great Lakes are silver and bighead carp.
