Anti Bullying Policies Taking Shape at Local Schools

Posted: Updated:

Local school districts have until Wednesday to formally submit their state-mandated anti-bullying policies.

Most schools already have their policies written and in effect.

Governor Snyder signed a bill in December which requires districts to show what steps will be taken to deal with bullying.

Here in Northern Michigan at Harrison Community Schools their anti bullying policy was already in effect, but next year students will see it in their handbook.

Hundreds of schools still have to submit their policies to the Michigan Department of Education.

Many districts were expected to meet today and tomorrow to finalize their plans.
