Special Olympics Summer Games Draws in Athletes and Volunteers

More than 3,000 athletes are celebrating a year of training at the Special Olympics Summer Games.

Every year the games are held on Central Michigan University's campus in Mt. Pleasant.

The summer games consists of all the traditional track and field events, plus bocce ball, swimming and wheelchair races to name a few.

There are more than 1,000 volunteers on hand to help organize the chaos.

Some events were moved indoors due to the rain but so far none have been canceled.

Competition ends tomorrow afternoon.
