First Congregational Church Seeking Donations for Traverse City's "Treasure", Mel Gee

Posted: Updated:

They call him Traverse City's "treasure. Mel Gee has been donating his time and musical talents to the community for nearly 50 years.

Now, the 85 year-old is looking for some support from the community he's served for so long. Mel is at Munson's Hospice House, and his church, First Congregational Church, is looking for donations to fund his stay there.

Munson's Hospice House is a non-profit, but does cover most costs through insurance for comfortable care. Mel's been a volunteer and ambassador at the National Cherry Festival since he was 25 years old, a business owner, and active in his church community.

To donate to Mel's cause, contact First Congregational Church at: 231-947-6698.
