Some Northern Michigan Elementary Students Went Back in Time

Posted: Updated:

Cherryland Elementary School students took a trip back to the 1800s today.

The 8th graders gave the 4th graders a lesson on farm life at Samels Farm in Williamsburg.

It's part of a hands on history lesson.

The school worked with the farm to get all the students learning by getting them out of the classroom.

Students get to see and do things like churning butter and carving wood.

Cherryland teachers look at this project as a positive learning tool.

This was the 7th year for this project.

The farm will have an open house for the public on Fathers Day.
