This just into our newsroom...

Rescue crews have recovered the body of a man who was trying to save 2 girls.

Dive teams pulled the body of a man they believed to be 39-year-old Greg Rochon out of the water near the Southeastern corner of Houghton Lake just after 10:30 this morning.

The search started Monday night after Rochon, another man and 3 girls got stranded on a pontoon boat about a mile from shore.

As the men worked to fix the engine, an 11-year-old was holding Rochon's 3-year-old daughter, Angelise Moreno, over the side of the boat so she could go to the bathroom.

Angelise fell in and the 11-year-old jumped in after her.

Both men dove in after them, but the wind pushed the boat away.

A nearby boat pulled one man and the 11-year-old to safety.

Rochon and Angelise both drowned.

The funeral service for Greg Rochon and Angalise will be at 11 Monday morning at Our Lady of the Lake Church.

Visitation is Sunday from 3pm-7pm at Cristler Funeral Home and Monday from 10am-11pm at the Church.
