"Osprey Cam" is 24/7 Look at Bird of Prey at Ferris State

Posted: Updated:

The Osprey Cam at Ferris State University captures a small window into the wonders of the natural world.

And it happened again tonight.

About eight this evening the first baby osprey of the seasons was born, and three eggs still haven't hatched.

It was all captured on the popular webcam.

The 24 hour-a-day camera is now in its 4th season and it attracts attention from around the world.

It's a story we've followed for a few years now.

Osprey are a bird of prey and Ferris faculty says these birds love the location because big rapids is close to fresh water and lots of fish.

What started as a tool to engage biology students evolved into something that people log on to check daily.

We're told that soon a Ferris State Osprey Cam App will be available for your smart phone.

If you want to take a live look at the osprey cam follow the link attached to this story.
