Storms and High Winds Leave Many in Kalkaska Without Power, and Days of Cleanup

Posted: Updated:

Kalkaska County's Woodman Road looks like a tornado hit it, and some who live here thought that's what happened last night. They say the storm didn't last long, but it only took about five minutes to leave behind a huge mess.

Strong winds brought trees crashing to the ground, with one of them landing on a garage.

People in the area spent the day cleaning up, but they still don't feel like they're making much progress. Many are still without power, and left with days of work ahead.

Great Lakes Energy tells us there was more than 300 people without power in Kalkaska County. Crews hope to have power restored to everyone by the end of the day.
