Some Seasonal Residents Just Learning About Search for Armed Fugitive

Posted: Updated:

An armed fugitive is still on the run in Roscommon County after five days into the search.

Everett Robinson has been on the run since Monday when police say he attacked a deputy, got his gun, and stole the patrol car. An Arenac County deputy was driving Robinson to court in Standish for a hearing on a home invasion charge when he got away. Police say he came through an unlatched window between the front and back of the patrol car.

The last time anyone reported seeing Robinson was Wednesday night on Nestel Road in Roscommon County's Backus Township. A woman says he approached her at home and held a gun to her face asking for help. Police say they tracked him to within a half mile but he got away.

The police tip line is still open. Anyone with any information is urged to call (877)-616-4677.
