Water Studies Students Get Hands On Lesson On Great Lakes

For students like John Lutchko, being on board a boat to study is a dream come true. This is state of the art equipment, worth half a million dollars entrusted to these students.

The course helps students navigate around the Great Lakes, everything from mapping the lake's bottom to getting the dimensions of a real shipwreck. The course is so unique, students have come to Traverse City from all over the country; they're from NMC, Ferris State, and even the University of Miami in Florida.

So, for students like John, this isn't just another class, it's a big step toward his career.
