Posted: Updated:

With summer quickly approaching, you may be looking into some interesting day trips to take with the family here in Michigan.

The Alden B. Dow Home and Studio in Midland welcomes in more than 8,000 visitors every year.

The site is the former home and workplace of the famous Michigan architect, Alden B. Dow.

You can see his fascinating architectural themes at work inside the space, from playful color schemes to a focus on connecting buildings with nature.

Alex Jokich and Corey and Stephanie Adkins were live there on Monday morning, to kick off their special week-long travel series.

(The Alden B. Dow Home and Studio is open for tours all year long.  They recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot.  For more information, check out the link posted on the left.)
