Traverse City is planning to give clinch park a makeover, but it doesn't include the "Spirit of traverse City' mini-train.  Now the train is for sale and bids are coming in.

The Traverse City and Garfield Township Planning Commission had a meeting Wednesday night to hear more plans from groups bidding for the mini-train.

Two groups presented their plans for the much loved locomotive when it leaves it's current home in clinch park.  They heard from the Buckley Old Engine Show and a group that calls itself the 'Spirt of Traverse City.'

The Buckley Old Engine Show put their bid in in hopes of educating everyone who comes to their show with the history of the train.

But the 'Spirit of Traverse City' says they'd rather see the train chuggin along all summer long in Traverse City.  They want to put the train in the Grand Traverse Commons.

The planning commission hopes to make their final decision on the fate of the train at a meeting next month.
