Proposed Meijer Project Heads To Acme Township Board

A Meijer project years in the making is finally coming to a conclusion.

Acme Township in Grand Traverse County is considering whether to allow a new Meijer store and development on M-72.

After years of political wrangling on the issue, the township board held a special meeting last night where they continued discussions.

The township planning commission already approved the project, now developers only need an OK from the full board.

But first, they need to review the whole project page by page.

Even if the project gets the green light, it will still be several months before they can break ground.
