Sara Simnitch - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Sara Simnitch joined 9&10 News in May 2011. She is a general assignment reporter working out of the Traverse City bureau.

Sara graduated from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan in 2011 with a major in Broadcast and Cinema Arts and played on the Women's golf team for the Crusaders. While in college, Sara interned for WJRT-ABC 12 in Flint, covering the last-ever PGA "Buick Open", and anchored Madonna's "Campus-Close-up". Sara was chosen in 2010 by mtvU and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of the top 10 student-journalists in the country in a contest to report on the red carpet for the Oscars.

Sara is originally from the Flint-area, and she is excited to call Northern Michigan her new home. She enjoys spending her spare time golfing at all of the beautiful courses Northern Michigan has to offer, and spending time with her family and four nieces in Flint.
