Evan Dean - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Evan Dean

Evan Dean joined the 9&10 News team in May 2010 as an intern, before becoming a photojournalist part way through the summer. In January of 2011, he started reporting on the weekends while finishing up his degree at Central Michigan University. Upon graduation in May 2011, he became a full-time general assignment reporter working out of the Cadillac Bureau.

Evan graduated from Central Michigan University with a major in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts, while double minoring in Journalism and Cinema Studies. During his time at CMU, he anchored, reported, and produced for the award winning, student-run live nightly newscast News Central 34. He also served as Vice President for RTDNA, the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Evan was born in Traverse City before moving to Cadillac at the age of three. He's very excited to be reporting for Northern Michigan's News Leader, the station he grew up watching as a kid! He's thrilled to continue to discover the amazing people and places of beautiful Northern Michigan.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, watching movies, and spending time with his family and friends. Evan grew up on the ice and on the football field, so he is an avid Red Wings and Lions fan!
