The officers were preparing for their shifts to begin and had been using their laptops. Police say one of the officers may have wounded the gunman. Police have identified a person of interest.

BURLINGAME, Kan. (AP) — Kansas authorities have arrested a former Columbia, Mo. city official for allegedly killing his wife and two teenage daughters. James Kraig Kahler had lost his job after he was charged with assaulting his wife. He's being held on three counts of suspicion of capital murder.
