FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) — April Phillips scored a career-high 19 points and sparked a second-half run to lift No. 9 Xavier to a 71-56 win over Minnesota in the Junkanoo Jam on Saturday. Amber Harris added 12 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and three blocks for Xavier (5-0). Tyeasha Moss hit four 3-pointers and finished with 15 points.

CHICAGO (AP) — Former NBA All-Star Antoine Walker is apologizing for "unacceptable" living conditions at Chicago buildings owned by his companies. One building has been described as a slum nuisance by the city. A broken sewer pipe filled the basement with human waste and debris, and bricks tumbled from the building's facade.

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Kael Mouillierat scored two goals and Minnesota State, Mankato took a three-goal lead and held on to beat Michigan Tech 3-2 yesterday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The Huskies (3-9-0, 2-8-0) came back late in the third, getting a goal by Anthony Schooley at 16:26 and another by Drew Dobson with an extra attacker at 19:47.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Sophomore goalie Kent Patterson makes 37 saves as Minnesota rebounds from a humbling six-goal loss Friday to beat Michigan State 2-1 in the College Hockey Showcase. Minnesota's Jordan Schroeder scored at 3:32 of the second period and the Gophers led until Michigan State (9-5-2) tied it on Andrew Rowe's goal at 16:35 of the third. Mike Carman broke the tie less than a minute later.
