Security breach probed...Turkey at the White House...Calf mutilations
Posted: 11/26/2009

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Secret Service isn't saying much about how two people managed to crash Tuesday's White House dinner for the Indian prime minister. It's not clear whether the northern Virginia couple could be charged with anything. A lawyer who has previously represented them says they didn't do anything wrong -- "they just went to a party." They later bragged about it on their Facebook page.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Just as in houses across the country, turkey is on the table at the White House today. The first family and about 50 guests can also choose from ham, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, greens and six kinds of pie. The president spent part of his day phoning U.S. service members stationed around the world.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq's prime minister says there will be no delay in the withdrawal of U.S. troops despite an Iraqi political dispute that is expected to force a January vote to be postponed. But Nouri al-Maliki (NOO'-ree ahl-MAHL'-ih-kee) tells The Associated Press that the dispute threatens national security, and he harshly criticized the Sunni Arab vice president who vetoed a key election law.

GSTAAD, Switzerland (AP) — After two months in jail, Roman Polanski is preparing for house arrest in his $1.6 million chalet in the Alps. But first, Swiss authorities have ordered the 76-year-old director to post $4.5 million bail. Authorities are deciding whether to extradite Polanski to the U.S. to be sentenced for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

SAN LUIS, Colo. (AP) — A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff's officials mystified. Four calves have been found dead in a pasture north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks, with their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. With no signs of human or animal attackers, some in the area think it's the work of aliens.
