Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City will soon become smoke-free.

NMC's board of trustees voted to ban all tobacco products.

Smoking and chewing tobacco will not be allowed on any campuses.

The ban begins next fall on a voluntary basis to help students transition.

NMC's tobacco-free policy will be enforced starting January 2011.

More than 20 other Michigan colleges and universities have smoke and tobacco-free policies.

people need to mind there own business. if they don't want to smoke don't. but let others decide if they want to. smokers should not be treated any different. if you don't want to smoke you should. keep your mouth shut.
