Isabella County Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Marion for taking his minivan on a wild ride through several yards in Union Township.
Deputies say the driver veered off the road and into a yard on South Isabella Road, hitting a few small trees and a privacy fence on the property. He didn't stop there. The driver then ran through a chain link fence in another nearby yard, then crashed into a deck attached to a house. The van then turned and ran over trees, shrubs and another privacy fence, and finally came to a stop when it got stuck on a chain link fence on Mackenzie Lane. Deputies say the driver got out, started banging on the windows of the home and asked the people living inside to call 9-1-1 for him. Deputies arrested the man for drinking and driving. He had some minor injuries but refused treatment.
