WASHINGTON (AP) — When Senate Democrats vote tomorrow night on whether to start debate on their health care plan, they'll need the backing of three wavering moderates in their party. And one of them, Ben Nelson of Nebraska, confirms he'll vote "yes." Mary Landrieu (LAN'-droo) of Louisiana has suggested she'll do the same, so the spotlight is now on Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate ethics committee is admonishing Sen. Roland Burris of Illinois, the man whose appointment to replace Barack Obama in the Senate was clouded by the impeachment of the man who appointed him, Rod Blagojevich (bluh-GOY'-uh-vich). The ethics panel says Burris made "inconsistent, misleading or incomplete" statements about the events surrounding his appointment. The committee recommended no other punishment -- and Burris says he's glad it's over.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — As the U.S. puts pressure on Afghanistan to reduce corruption, Defense Secretary Robert Gates says Washington will do its part. He says the U.S. government will be examining its own contracts and projects there to try to weed out corruption.

ATLANTA (AP) — Health officials say swine flu cases appear to declining throughout most of the U.S., but the specter of Thanksgiving gatherings makes it hard to predict what will happen next. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says reports of swine flu illnesses were widespread in 43 states last week, down from 46 the week before.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Students at the University of California at Berkeley have barricaded themselves inside part of a campus building. They're protesting a 32 percent increase in student fees that was approved yesterday in the state university system. Protests have also taken place at UCLA and UC Davis.
