Posted: 11/20/2009

WASHINGTON (AP) — A group of U.S. religious leaders have issued a joint statement reaffirming their opposition to abortion and gay marriage and pledging to protect religious freedoms. TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (AP) — Military researchers want to know more about what makes troops tick in an effort to learn who's most at risk for post-traumatic stress disorder. The mystery is why certain troops develop paralyzing stress symptoms while others shake it off. Doctors say the goal is understanding the triggers.

MIAMI (AP) — There's a federal court sentencing scheduled in Florida today in the plot to destroy Chicago's Sears Tower and bomb FBI offices. Officials say Narseal Batiste is the ringleader of the convicted plotters and that he faces a maximum of 70 years.

BEIJING (AP) — Washington's ambassador to China is criticizing U.S. media for their coverage of President Barack Obama's trip there. Ambassador Jon Huntsman says the negative reporting missed the mark by failing to take into account important progress on many issues, even though there were no breakthroughs.
