WASHINGTON (AP) — A Senate test vote is set for Saturday night on a proposed health-care overhaul bill. There's much partisan disagreement about the measure, including its cost. Democrats say it's $979 billion, higher than the $849 billion figure they had cited earlier. But Republicans say it's more like $1.5 trillion, though they say even that figure may be too low.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has voted to add more than $200 billion to the deficit to prevent steep Medicare payment cuts to doctors. The measure is a top priority for the American Medical Association. Republicans are calling the bill a political payoff to thank the doctors group for backing President Barack Obama's proposed health care overhaul.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — A humanitarian group says formerly conjoined Bangladeshi twins separated this week will remain in the group's care for at least two years. The girls had been attached at the top of their heads and shared brain tissue and blood vessels. One of the girls has awakened from her medically induced coma and has been talking and acting normally. Hospital officials say the other twin is also opening her eyes and becoming more alert.

CHICAGO (AP) — Oprah Winfrey's production company says she plans to end her talk-show in 2011, after 25 seasons on the air. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" grew from a local Chicago broadcast into a multibillion-dollar world TV powerhouse. Winfrey is expected to eventually start a new show on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The owner of a tour bus company says a driver suffered a ruptured aneurysm before his bus veered off a Minnesota interstate Wednesday. Two people died in the crash. Authorities say two passengers are in critical condition and three are in fair condition. Thirteen others have been treated and released. The 52-year-old bus driver survived.
