Many ski resorts in Northern Michigan try to open their slopes by Thanksgiving weekend. This year, mild November weather has prevented them from starting their snow-making machines and laying down snow. This could mean a later start to ski season in many areas.
At this time last year, Caberfae Peaks in Wexford County already had snow on their slopes. Although the weather is delaying things this season, managers say everything's ready to go once the temperatures drop.
