ATLANTA (AP) The problem that caused this morning's nationwide flight delays has been fixed, but the delays continue. A computer glitch at the Federal Aviation Administration forced controllers to have to enter flight plans manually. The airport in Atlanta, the world's busiest, was particularly hard-hit.
WASHINGTON (AP) Even though states would be allowed to "opt out" of the public option under a new Senate health care bill, about two-thirds of Americans would still have a public plan available in their state. That's according to experts at the Congressional Budget Office. But they estimate that only 3 to 4 million Americans would sign up -- partly because private plans would be able to offer lower premiums. WASHINGTON (AP) The government watchdog overseeing economic stimulus spending says the White House was too quick to take credit for saving or creating 640,000 jobs. Last month, the White House said some new job numbers showed that it's on track to save or create 3.5 million jobs by the end of next year. But the man in charge of that data is telling Congress there are too many errors to know just how many jobs have been created. TRENTON, N.J. (AP) There's word of a plea deal involving retired NBA star Jayson Williams. A person familiar with the case says Williams has agreed to a deal that would send him to prison for up to three years for accidentally shooting a driver at his New Jersey estate in 2002. NEWARK, N.J. (AP) A New Jersey airport security guard who was overheard talking about shooting President Barack Obama will be released from jail. John Brek appeared today in court in Newark, where he was sentenced to time served after pleading guilty to a disorderly persons offense. He had originally faced a felony charge of making terroristic threats.
