Posted: 11/15/2009

SINGAPORE (AP) — Let them go. That's the message from President Barack Obama to leaders of Myanmar's junta, according to Obama's spokesman. Robert Gibbs says Obama told the country's rulers to release pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi (ahng sahn soo chee) and other political prisoners. He delivered the message during his summit today with leaders of 10 Southeast Asian nations.

SINGAPORE (AP) — President Barack Obama says time is running out for Iran to sign on to a deal to ship its enriched uranium out of the country for further processing. He spoke alongside Russian President Dmitry Medvedev (dih-MEE'-tree med-VYEH'-dyev) after the two leaders met today on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Cooperation Council. The Russian president says he still hopes to get Iran to send its enriched uranium to Russia for processing.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The ACLU says it's going to keep fighting for the release of photos showing foreign detainees abused by their U.S. captors. The Obama administration says Defense Secretary Robert Gates has blocked the release of any more of those pictures. Gates says their release would endanger U.S. soldiers.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin over coffee. In an interview for broadcast on NBC's "Meet the Press," Clinton says she's never met Palin, and thinks it would be very interesting to sit down and talk with her. In her new book, Palin wrote that if she and Clinton were ever to meet for coffee, they would "fundamentally disagree on many issues."

CORAM, N.Y. (AP) — Police in suburban New York are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who had locked himself and his mother in her home. They say the man died after he fought with officers and was zapped twice with a stun gun.
