Kingsley HS Employees Awarded For Saving Lives » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (0)
Kingsley High School's Matt Schelich and Matt Nausadis saved the lives of fellow teacher Bruce Graves and his family after they were poisoned by carbon monoxide in their home.
Today police and fire officials presented life-saving awards to both men in Grand Traverse County. The men received their awards in front of a packed and proud crowd at a student assembly. Both the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department and Grand Traverse Rural Fire Department honored the men. The awards are for risking their own lives to save others. Bruce Graves also publicly thanked the men, neither of whom consider themselves heroes. Both of the men say the important message here is to make sure you have a working carbon monoxide detector and are checking out your furnace regularly. Erika Waddell and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have the story.
