A Northern Michigan man is in critical condition after he was shot in the woods.

Police have been searching the area looking for whoever's responsible.

It happened around 3:30 this afternoon near 35 Road and 8 Road in Greenwood Township in Wexford County.

Officers say Edward Carl Hutchinson of Lake City may have been shot accidentally.
