Mesick Under Boil Water Advisory » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (0)
Earlier this month, a bacteria was found during regular water sampling Mesick.
Now the entire village is under a boil water advisory until further notice. The Department of Environmental Quality says a non-dangerous bacteria called coliform was found in two sets of water samples this month. Residents have to boil water while the village cleans and flushes out the water system. The advisory could be in place until mid to late next week. Local businesses say it'll end up costing them hundreds of dollars, especially with open season starting this weekend. Mesick Consolidated Schools are also preparing. They're ordering bottled water for sports practices and adjusting plans in the kitchen. 9&10's Erika Waddell and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have the story.
