ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — President Barack has spent part of a cold, rainy Veterans Day by visiting a section of Arlington National Cemetery for troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The first lady was with him. Earlier, Obama placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A group of doctors who supervised the suspected Fort Hood shooter's medical training says Maj. Nidal Hassan had overly zealous religious views and demonstrated strange behavior. Hassan, an Army psychiatrist, is accused of shooting rampage that left 13 dead and 29 wounded.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas man has been convicted of capital murder for the vicious beating of a TV anchorwoman. Anne Pressly's face was shattered and she never regained consciousness before dying five days later. The same Little Rock jury that convicted Curtis Lavell Vance must decide if he should be executed or imprisoned until death.

NEW YORK (AP) — CNN's longest-running anchor, Lou Dobbs, says he's quitting, immediately. Dobbs said on his show today that it would be his last and that he will "purse new opportunities." Dobbs' persistent advocacy against illegal immigration angered many.

HAVANA (AP) — Eight American scientists are in Cuba to engage in "science diplomacy." The trip comes as Cuba and the U.S. are taking tentative steps toward improving nearly 50 years of frigid relations.
