It was a scary situation for police and neighbors last night in one Northern Michigan County.
For 6 hours, Police tried to talk a man with a gun out of taking his own life.
The standoff took place at a home on Pearsall Road in Wilson Township in Charlevoix County.
The Charlevoix County Sheriff's Department says it was a team effort as officers and negotiators tried to reason with the man.
The mans wife says her husband wasn't trying to hurt anyone; She says a combination of serious health problems, depression and unemployment just pushed him too far.
I personaly know this man and his wife, I have been best friends with his wife since childhood. They are wonderfull people!!! He would never harm anyone for any reason. He did what he did in an attemt to take his own life, noone elses. He is a good man and he just needs help and I hope the judge will see this, because I know the people that he loves and trust know the truth! He is not a murderer and would NEVER hurt ANYONE!!!!!!
i love my brother and i belive that he just had way to much on his plate falling down all at one time and i know that he would never do anything to harm anyone it was just a cry and a plea for help.
