UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The head of the U.N. nuclear agency is asking Iran to clarify mixed signals over a U.S.-backed proposal that would have Tehran ship most of its nuclear material abroad for processing. Tehran has sent mixed signals about the proposal.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea is making more veiled threats about its nuclear arsenal. It's hinting it may increase the size of the arsenal if the U.S. doesn't quickly agree to one-on-one talks its demanding. WASHINGTON (AP) — The seven companies getting the biggest bailouts from the government must submit executive compensation plans by the end of the year. The firms include Bank of America, Citigroup, General Motors and Chrysler. WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina authorities say bug spray that produces a fog to kill insects may be to blame for the death of a 10-month-old boy and for critically injuring his 2-year-old brother. Investigators in Williamston found seven fogger containers in a mobile home. CHICAGO (AP) — Tool makers Stanley Works and rival Black & Decker are trying to hammer out a $4.5 billion merger. The deal would cut costs by $350 million within three years, likely in part through job cuts.
