Clinton challenges Iran...Obama talks to Karzai...Elections tomorrow

MARRAKECH, Morocco (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says a nuclear offer to Iran will not be changed. It would have Tehran export 70 percent of its enriched uranium and have it returned as fuel for its research reactor. The offer is intended to restrain Iran's potential for making a nuclear weapon.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has spoken to Afghan President Hamid Karzai to congratulate him on his second-term victory. Obama is also calling for a "new chapter" of better governance after a fraud-ridden election. Karzai won when his opponent dropped out of a planned runoff.

WASHINGTON (AP) — There are a handful of elections in a few states tomorrow. Virginia and New Jersey are choosing governors. Voters in upstate New York and northern California are deciding who should fill two vacant congressional seats. New York City and Atlanta are picking mayors.

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — One of the troubled Detroit Three automakers, Ford, is making money again and looking for better times. Ford reports a third-quarter profit of nearly $1 billion dollars. The automaker is also forecasting a "solidly profitable" 2011.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate is moving toward approving a major economic relief bill that extends benefits to the jobless and expands a first-time home buyer tax credit. The legislation cleared a procedural hurdle today, setting up a vote to pass the bill later in the week.
