Obama plans Afghan strategy...Palestinians upset at Clinton...Obama stumps in NJ

KABUL (AP) — President Barack Obama will announce a new Afghan war strategy "within weeks." That's according to top Obama adviser David Axelrod, who appeared today on CBS' "Face the Nation. Meanwhile, a senior U.S. official tells The Associated Press that Obama has still not yet decided what to do.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Palestinians are accusing Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton of undermining progress toward Mideast peace talks after she praised Israel for offering to curb some Jewish settlement construction. Palestinians want a complete freeze of settlement construction before talks resume.

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — President Barack Obama is praising the incumbent governor of New Jersey. Obama calls Democrat John Corzine (KOHR'-zyn) one of the best partners he has in the White House. The president campaigned for Corzine today in Camden and Newark. Corzine is in a tight race with GOP challenger Chris Christie.

SYDNEY (AP) — A search and rescue mission is under way for about two dozen people missing after their boat sank in the Indian Ocean. It went down near some sparsely populated atolls about 1,500 miles northwest of the Australian coast. Merchant vessels managed to rescue 17 people

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — There's no word on when the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge will be open to traffic again. A state transportation spokesman says crews still have to conduct more enhancement work, stress tests and inspections. A crack repair failed Tuesday night sending tons of metal into rush-hour traffic.
