Shop That Helps Thousands, Now Needs Help
Posted: 10/29/2009

A shop that's helped thousands in need in Northern Michigan is now asking for help.

The We Care shop in St. Helen in Roscommon County needs a bigger and better space to run out of.

The women who run We Care are hoping someone will donate a space.

We Care has outgrown it's current building and they want a place big enough to house furniture.

The store is supplied by donations and gives clothes, food and furniture to those in need for free.

If nothing comes through by November 18th, they'll have to close.

But the women vow they won't shut down for good.

If they do have to close, they hope not to be closed for more than a month.

In that case, donations will still be accepted and can be taken to the Faith Alive church in St. Helen.

Donations especially needed are kids and babies clothing and winter coats.

Erika Waddell and photojournalist Justin DePrekel have the story.
