The search for Douglas Helmbolt Jr. in Osceola County is over. Police found him, and he is currently in the county jail.
Police got a call about a domestic dispute at about 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. That turned into a hostage situation and then a manhunt
The sheriff says Helmbolt was wearing camouflage and had a long gun. Police didn't approach the house, but got an armored vehicle to get the woman out safely.
Yup. That's his ugly mug. Never got his jaw jacked. I hope he gets 20 years for this. He's beyond help. He doesn't listen to ANYONE in the family, because he knows it all. He's a bully who finally got stopped by the law. Maybe if he gets released when he's 60 he'll regret losing his temper.
I'm a little bothered that in the news coverage of this story it was stated that this man "was not a threat" to anyone. Seriously? He threatened someone's life on Monday night, Tuesday morning he held his wife hostage, and then he took off with a weapon! Does this sound like a rational thinking man who is not a threat? I understand not wanting the public to freak out because he on the run, but at least state the truth! It was my 4 little nieces and nephews and my sister-in-law that were holed up in the house on the property where the search was taking place. They were scared out of their minds! He is a convicted felon, who IS a threat! I'm glad he turned himself in, and that nobody was hurt.
i really think that this man needs help and stay away from guns or anything that is deadly. i hope the person was okay and that she didn't get hurt from him.
Can't wait to hear the deets on this one! I wonder how many and what he will charged with. It's about time this one went to jail. Thank you Osceola Co. Sheriff Deputies!!!
