Police arrested a Clare County man accused of stealing two cars nearly a decade ago and keeping them for his daily use.
Police started an investigation last April after receiving a tip. They say Michael Scott Pergl of Harrison stole a car in 1999 from a Kalkaska County dealership and another a year later from a home in Gladwin County.
Police say Pergl replaced parts on the vehicles with other car parts to mask the theft. If convicted he faces 10 years in prison.
I'm not defending the actions of the accused, but isn't there a statute of limitations? i thought mureder was the only crime w/o a statute of limitations.
