Thousands Stolen From Neighborhood Bar's Safe » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (1)
Thieves got into the Loomis Lounge late Sunday night into Monday morning and targeted the bar's ATM that also doubled as a safe stealing more than $5,000.
Bar owner Roger Lower was going to take the money to the bank Monday morning, but when he arrived in the morning he saw a window broken and feared for the worst. "You kind of blame yourself," says Lower. "But it's not something that's supposed to happen." Police began investigating the crime Monday but the Isabella County Sheriff's Department says they have not identified any suspects yet. Insurance will cover the damage done to the ATM/safe but will not cover most of the missing cash. 9&10's Michael Kasiborski and photojournalist Stephanie Adkins spoke to Lower and got a glimpse of the busted up ATM.
