UNITED NATIONS (AP) — A U.N. human rights investigator says all detainees at Guantanamo Bay prison should be freed or transferred to U.S. courts for trial by the Jan. 22. That's the deadline President Barack Obama set when he took office. The investigator says military commissions do not meet international human rights standards and shouldn't be used to prosecute detainees.

WASHINGTON (AP) — It appears two Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot their Minneapolis landing by 150 miles last week could lose their jobs. The pilots have told investigators they were engrossed in their laptops looking at crew schedules. Delta Air Lines, which acquired Northwest a year ago, says that's a violation of flight deck policy and cause for termination.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — The company that holds exclusive rights to salvage the Titanic tells a federal court it's making plans for another expedition to the wreck next year. It would be the first salvage expedition since 2004. The court is involved to guarantee that Titanic artifacts remain intact as a collection and accessible to the public.
