PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police in Palm Beach, Fla. say they're not ruling out anything in the death of philanthropist Jeffry Picower. He was found at the bottom of his swimming pool at his home. Picower was accused of making more than $7 billion from the investment schemes of his longtime friend Bernard Madoff.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is calling today's suicide bombings in Baghdad "outrageous attacks." The pair of suicide car bombings killed at least 147 people in the country's deadliest attack in more than two years.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top lawmakers are split over the timing of President Barack Obama's decision on how to move ahead in Afghanistan. Republicans are urging a quick move to boost troop levels while Democrats are counseling patience.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic officials say businesses would not be required to provide health insurance under legislation being readied for Senate debate. But large firms would owe significant penalties if workers need government subsidies to buy coverage on their own.

NEW YORK (AP) — Character actor Lou Jacobi, known for comic as well as dramatic roles over a long career in the theater and movies, has died. He was 95. Jacobi appeared in such films as "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "Avalon."
