It was a mix of emotions during a town hall meeting this morning in Cheboygan.

Over a hundred people gathered today to hear what Congressman Bart Stupak had to say on issues like health care and the economy.

The meeting took place from 11 to 12:30 in the Cheboygan High School auditorium in Cheboygan County.

9&10's Chivon Kloepfer was at the meeting today and has more in this report.

By the time the session was over there were many people standing along the back wall and into the hallway. What does it matter anyway?

And so is the police department, fire department, public library system, medicare, social security, unemployment benefits, I could go on and on. So let's stop using scare tactics, ewwww, socialism. Scary! It's not like we don't have it already anyway. And let's remember it's a public OPTION. If you don't want it, don't get it. Feel free to pay a lot more to a private company for the same services, because that's the patriotic thing to do! Profits before patients!!!

George, the military is not a form of socialism. Socializing medicine will mean we all have to have the same level of care, and when it is necessary for the politicians to cut for budgets, our ability to get well will be at stake. If you want it that way, move to Canada, I don't want that for my family or yours.
